Equity Scholarship for Learner Flourishing

Our motto is Medical Application Support for All.

We don’t want money to be a barrier for medical application support. We aim to support all medical school applicants, especially those from underserved backgrounds. Please let us know how our support will help you and we will consider you for a scholarship for our offerings.

A Medicine Cabinet was founded to address the gaps we saw in access to mentorship, guidance, and community for low-income, first-generation, and URM students.

Students at all stages in their premedical or medical career are invited to apply to be part of the first cohort of the ESP. Ultimately, the Equity Scholars Program aims to achieve further bridging of equity gaps in a way that support learner well-being and flourishing.

Equity Scholars will:

  • be selected for a scholarship that will cover up to 100% of A Medicine Cabinet services, in addition to being paired with a dedicated medical student mentor that will guide them throughout their medical school application process.

  • have the opportunity to develop optional mentored Passion Projects and be connected with faculty in their field of interest. Scholars will also have the opportunity to engage in networking/professional development events with medical students.

  • be given priority for enrollment in any medical school consulting bootcamps or fellowships, which will consist of near-daily medical student-facilitated group activities centered around. Each week of the elective will focus on one of four domains: clinical skills, study strategies, community, and research. Additional components will include:

    • Written reflections

    • Summative blog post on the relationship between student flourishing and medic preparedness (for submission to the Medicine Cabient website)

    • 2 monthly Live Q&A sessions (to get your individualized questions answered)

    • Lessons, templates, guidebooks, and strategies for getting accepted into medical schools

    • Updated resources throughout the year.

    • Exclusive GroupMe community for students to connect & collaborate!

These activities can be scheduled anytime during your scholar years, in coordination with ESP medical student mentors.

Additional Support

Scholars may be eligible for funding to support medical school application costs. These requests will be reviewed by the ESP Directors and approved based on a number of factors (e.g., level of need, level of participation in the ESP to date).
